Early Childhood Education in Dallas, Texas Over half of children entering Kindergarten cannot communicate in English well Over 17,000 kindergartners enrolled, however, only 6,000 eventually graduate high school Over 70% of the Dallas ISD is Latino, with over half enrolled in English Language Learner programs Join us in preparing tomorrow's workforce, leaders and community members for success. About Mi Escuelita Preschool, Inc. Mi Escuelita Preschool, Inc. a nationally accredited 501(c)(3) that operates 24 classrooms in five centers serving 489 children in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1978, our mission is to teach English to children from all cultures and prepare them for academic success. The majority of the population we serve come from low income families living at or below poverty with children considered to be “at-risk.” Our goal is to provide a safe, secure environment where non-English speaking children of preschool age are taught the English language, pre-reading, pre-Math, pre-Science, literacy and social skills necessary for a successful experience in both school and life. Because many of our children are under-insured and considered food insecure, meaning they don't know where their next meal will come, we offer dental, vision, and lead screenings, speech therapy and behavioral assessment as needed, as well as three meals a day. Of more than 2,500 preschool and daycare providers, only 28 are nationally accredited with NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). Four of those centers are Mi Escuelita Preschool centers.
